MasseyHacks

This year, MasseyHacks will be presented to you in an all new hybrid model. Hackers can choose between participating virtually, or in-person at Vincent Massey Secondary School. Unlike previous years, in-person participants will return home Saturday evening and come back to the venue Sunday morning. This means that the venue will be closed during the night. OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. Virtual participants will attend the entire event online. All our workshops and major events will be accessible to hackers attending in-person and virtually. Due to capacity limits, in-person spots for MasseyHacks are not guaranteed.

Due to circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic, this information may be updated in the future to further reflect local, provincial, and federal guidelines.

Groups can have anywhere from 1 to 4 people. Teams can consist of in-person and virtual participants.

Yes, all your nutritional needs will be satisfied free of charge throughout our in-person MasseyHacks event.

All participants should find their own transportation to get to MasseyHacks. Unfortunately due to circumstances with the COVID-19 Pandemic, we're unable to provide or reimburse for transportation. If you're unable to arrange for transporation, you can join us virtually instead!

Here at MasseyHacks, keeping hackers safe is and will always be our number one priority. Some steps we plan to take this year includes splitting hackers into cohorts to make sure social distancing can be maintained, and regularly sanitizing all surfaces and hacker areas throughout the event.

Nope! Feel free to go in solo, but remember all good things are better together. We’ll also have team formation at the beginning of the event where you can unite with other hackers to form the dream team!

Definitely consider bringing:

  • All your tech! - Bring laptops, phones, iPads, chargers, powerstrips and anything else you’ll need to create your hack
  • ID - bring a piece of identification for hacker sign-in

Yes, of course! All hackers must abide to the MLH Code of Conduct found here.
